TOP 7 LASIK QUESTIONS WE HEAR FROM PATIENTS
Will it hurt?

Often times the there is as much discomfort in the pre-exam as there is in the surgery.  There is very little pain.  You will feel some pressure, but very little pain.

Is the procedure safe?

As with all surgery, there is risk.  But lasik has low risk since the laser cuts only penetrate into, but not through the cornea.  This greatly decreases the risk of infection.

When can I get back to work?

Depends on your work, but if you do little heavy lifting most patients can get back to work within about 3 days.

How long does it take?

Usually lasik takes about 10 minutes.  The pre-operative procedures and post-op recovery take much longer than the procedure itself.

Am I suitable?

We can tell you with a comprehensive pre-lasik exam, but the final call of your eligibility is up to your surgeon.

Can I drive after the surgery?

Most patients see well enough to drive, but you will be using lots of drops and we recommend you have a driver so you can concentrate on taking care of your eyes with eyedrops.

When can I wear makeup?

Often times sooner, but most patients can wear makeup in about a week.
